Urgos movement codes begin with “UW”.
Until 1990, Urgos was located in Villingen-Schwenningen, West Germany. In 1990, it was purchased by Walter Steinbach and moved to Donaueschingen, Germany. In 1999, Franz Hermle and Sohn bought Urgos from Steinbach and incorporated their production into Hermle Black Forest Clocks in Amherst, Virginia.
Urgos movements continue to be manufactured by Franz Hermle and Sohn, stamped with the Urgos name and uniquely numbered. Therefore, replacement movements are completely interchangeable with their original counterparts. The replacement movement you purchase from Dakota Clock Works will be an exact replica of your existing movement. The original movement components, such as the pendulum, weights, dial and chime blocks will fit your new movement flawlessly.
Our downloadable PDF chart contains information to convert the Urgos code on your existing movement to the Hermle production model number.
Urgos movement codes begin with “UW”. Your movement number may or may not contain a slash (/), i.e. “UW32/1. If it does not contain a slash (/), 0’s are substituted. For example, “UW32/1” is identical to “UW32001,” which converted, using our PDF chart, is equivalent to the new movement number “32319.”
The fool-proof way to find the precise replacement movement for your grandmother, grandfather, wall or mantle clock is to answer “The Big Four.”
